The Fundamental Flaw

People are unable to feel the pain of others. People almost feel the pain of a family member because it affects them directly, but even with a close friend it’s very hard to really feel their pain. In the end this is the reason why inflicting pain comes with such an ease to humans. Much has been written on how people don’t feel empathy anymore, the epidemic of aspergers is just a tip of the iceberg. But I think there is another reason why people default to numbness. They feel inadequate to no sense the pain of the other viscerally. The embracement of the major flaw in our social construction laid bare.

why do people feel pain?

why is it essential that a part of the human experience has to be shaped from feeling pain?

i like that pain is a means for me being more creative but i don't think it should be a part of life. i don't think people need pain. i don't understand why people feel it though.
