May be because I changed countries, ideas and ideologies so many times I am often puzzled when I encounter people who never change. How can you live a life on one note? Often when you interact with a person the experience envelopes you from all sides like a room in a house. There is a unique way the sound bounces off the walls, there are smells, there is the range of lighting. There is something disconcerting in going to a place that stays the same throughout decades. It’s a particularly claustrophobic feeling. I often find the smell overwhelming and nauseating, it lingers like a bad perfume for the entire day.
