Rethinking RSS

I am rethinking RSS. I care about people seeing my content but an anonymous subscriber means nothing to me. Someone who never contributes or react to what I write doesn’t register, especially because I don’t charge for the content, I don’t promote a product. So technically a hundred anonymous subscribers or no subscribers feels the same to me. I also care about how content is presented visually and I have little control of this in the RSS readers. I think I will start phasing out the RSS subscription via emailĀ  and will offer only abbreviated text in the RSS feed. My Content resides on this site, period.

I think this is an incredible blog but I really don’t understand this. First you phased out commenting, bringing it back with the qualification that most people who posted had nothing to say. Now you are upset that no one is contributing. What gives?

Imagine YouTube comments, they are junk because nobody cares. I am sort of on the opposite side of the spectrum. This leads to disappointment that life doesn’t live up to my imaginary standards. But I am interested in what you have to say.
