There a 2003 conference conversation between Walt Mossberg and Steve Jobs (partial transcript). Here is a memorable quote where Jobs rejects the utility of a stylus:

“You know, you could never keep up with your email if you had to [hand] write it all out. And so… it turns out that people want keyboard. I mean, when I started in this business, one of the big challenges was People Couldn’t Type, you know, and one day we realized that death would eventually take care of this.”
