LinkedIn published top 10 overused buzzwords in LinkedIn profiles in the USA – 2010 [here they are with my subtitles in the brackets]:
- Extensive experience [I require more money than you ever willing to pay in this economy, although for the right price I am ready to move to Bangladesh.]
- Innovative [I am skilled in overcoming all the obstacles your company will place between me and the performing of my basic job functions.]
- Motivated [I am foolish enough to donate the best years of my life and all my talents regardless of compensation, in fact my current position motivated me to get another job.]
- Results-oriented [I will pull off a project after project despite your company's deep bench of the chronic organizational incompetence.]
- Dynamic [I am propelled by a good cappuccino machine.]
- Proven track record [ I am such a hot s..., to prove it I am on LinkedIn and looking for a job.]
- Team player [I always park my balls in the locker room, this way "I leave nothing on the field".]
- Fast-paced [My ADHD will be a great benefit to your business' bottom line.]
- Problem solver [I was very lucky once in the early 90s and I am due, every 20 years, to solve something again. Solving the problem of getting a job is a start.]
- Entrepreneurial [My goal is to entrepreneur myself into a corporate job with benefits and two weeks vacation.]
