Loren Feldman Turns off the Studio Light, Again

The only personal interaction I had with Loren Feldman was a huge twitter fight. He might not know it, we have so much in common. Loren writes – It’s Not You, It’s Me:

“When me and my dear friend Jason Calacanis first met years ago after me breaking his balls with “Jason’s Place”, sorry no video link . He said something to me that I never forgot. “You really care don’t you?” Yeah I did, and then I stopped. I had to. I’m sure others do, but most don’t. No one would ever speak up. C’mon don’t deny it. They were too afraid to say anything for themselves. So they let me do the dirty work for them. They were too afraid of losing money, followers, whatever. What they really lost was themselves. When you censor your own voice, your own gut, you lose so much more than a few bucks. You lose what makes you special. How many emails did I get saying right on, I support you. Many. I would say to these people “Why don’t you say it in public?” The answer was always the same. “I can’t risk it.” Risk what exactly? Money? Followers? What could possibly be more important than your own convictions? As soon as you say “I can’t” you’ve already lost. Maybe because I didn’t come from much, maybe because I’m a dope, but I always felt that all we truly have is what we believe in. It’s what makes us who we are.”
