Chabad and Intelligentsia

Many times when I have been around the Chabad Russian peasants and they forgot I was there (or weren’t sure what to make of me), I would hear them curse out the (Russian) intelligentsia bitterly. I have finality realized why there was such an unrestrained hatred of the “feeling class”. The so-called intelligentsia are the very people who developed a habit of ideological resistance in the USSR. If you wanted to stay human you had to question and negate the entire ideological ecosystem. At the end of the day this very skill is what sets apart the so-called intelligentsia from the so-called peasants and plebeians. You could stay human or go with the flow.
