Very good article about Russia in the Economist – The long life of Homo sovieticus. Unfortunately can’t find the author of the editorial there? There is one minor omission though, no parallels to the Singapore/China model and in this context, what Zizek describes as the epic struggle for the soul of the democracy. The Russian oligarchy must be also understood at the backdrop of the same global phenomenon.
This beautiful sentence evokes all Russian ideologies very precisely: “in Russia words and symbols often count for more than experience”.

The Economist doesn’t provide bylines for their articles and considers articles efforts of the team.
